About Concierge Practices
Concierge, cash-based, retainer, customer-driven, customer-financed….whatever you prefer to call it, alternative financial models are appearing in every major city. The basic concept is the same: for a monthly fee, the physician will provide high quality services to a significantly smaller patient panel.
The fee for an individual patient can range anywhere from $25 per month to $15,000 per year. In addition, there are two practices, MDVIP and MD2 that you allow you to franchise. Some models and states allow you to continue to participate in insurance, others require you to completely remove yourself from the insurance game. Patient rosters range anywhere from as few as 50 patients per physician to as many as 1000 patients per physician. Ultimately, the combination of benefits offered corresponds with the number of patients accepted.
